“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” –John Quincy Adams
What inspires you?
What makes you get up every morning?
What pushes you forward through each day?
Inspiration is everywhere – from the books you read to the people who you meet. All it takes to find inspiration is to open your eyes and look at the world around you.
To me, inspiration is a feeling of enthusiasm that you get from someone or something, it gives you new and creative ideas.
Nah I’m joking, that’s the definition of inspiration online. I think inspiration is more than that. It’s something that can’t really be put into words. Inspiration fuels imagination and everyone needs it. Inspiration also comes in many forms. That means it can be found just about anywhere you look, and the most interesting part about inspiration is that it always comes when you least expect it. You never know when inspiration will strike. That’s what makes it so beautiful.
What Inspires Me
My biggest source of inspiration is people; more specifically their stories.
I love hearing people’s stories. Every single person has their own extraordinary story. Whether it be a story of struggle and perseverance or a story of joy and friendship, everyone has their own story. It’s just something about each individual’s story that’s so inspiring to me. The way I see it is that every story has its own spirit. That’s why I truly believe that stories can change people’s lives.
I am very inspired by J.K Rowling’s life story. She is most famous for the Harry Potter series (I only read one, I have to be consistent and finish reading the series lol). Not many people know, but she went through a lot of struggle before she got famous.
J.K. Rowling had just gotten a divorce, was on government aid, and could barely afford to feed her baby in 1994, just three years before the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone, was published. When she was shopping it out, she was so poor she couldn’t afford a computer or even the cost of photocopying the 90,000-word novel, so she manually typed out each version to send to publishers. It was rejected dozens of times until finally Bloomsbury, a small London publisher, gave it a second chance after the CEO’s eight year-old daughter fell in love with it.
This story, like many others, inspire me every day to try harder and succeed in whatever I do. There is also so much to learn from these stories. Stories like these are the reasons why I am so inspired by people.
I can’t really explain how I found this “inspiration” or what fueled me to start meeting and hearing people’s stories, but I am really glad that I did. This inspiration also led me to create “A Better World.” Over the process of the series, I have heard and experienced so many incredible stories from so many incredible people. People who, no matter the odds, fight and persevere. The world is full of extraordinary people with extraordinary stories.
Through the process of finding what inspires me, I also found out that it isn’t necessarily the easiest thing to do. Finding what inspires you takes time. Through this process, I learned that inspiration can be found everywhere, but you can’t sit and wait for it to come to you. You need to go and find what inspires you.
There are many loving and caring people in this world. I will never forget the people who supported me and helped me during my treatment. Those people inspire me each and every day. I truly believe that my experiences have made me into a better person. I believe that my experiences have fueled my inspiration to meet new people, hear their stories, and even start this blog. Also, another big thing that inspires me every day is you guys, my readers. Over the past few months, I have received messages from people telling me about how this blog is inspiring them. Seeing that I am actually making a difference by blogging is very inspiring to me. It makes me want to write more and make better content so, thank you.
I went on social media to find out what inspires my readers the most, and my friend and I made a movie about it. Check it out.
Thank you, Caroline.
